GNWT Launches French Version of its Careers Website
YELLOWKNIFE (May 29, 2014) – Travaillezaugtno.ca, a French version of the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) Careers website, makes it easier for French speaking job seekers to learn about and apply for positions in the territorial public service and encourages workers throughout the NWT and Canada to balance life and experience living as a GNWT employee.
“I am excited about the French language website and the opportunities it provides to recruit a representative workforce and promote one of our Official Languages,” said Minister of Human Resources Tom Beaulieu. “The site showcases our wide variety of employment opportunities and highlights what our employees already know – the GNWT is a great place to work.”
The website will help the GNWT recruit bilingual employees, facilitating the implementation of the GNWT Strategic Plan on French Language Communications and Services. Travaillezaugtno.ca includes a “talent community” feature. By joining the talent community, individuals can receive automated updates when jobs in the areas they are interested in are posted. Inquiries in French will receive responses in French from a bilingual officer.
French job seekers can read information on how to apply on a GNWT job, résumé writing and interview tips in French. Applicants are encouraged to check the careers website often; available jobs are updated on a regular basis.

What is the purpose of www.travaillezaugtno.ca ?
The travaillezaugtno website makes it easier for French speaking job seekers to learn about and apply for positions in the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) and to encourage bilingual French workers throughout the NWT and Canada to balance life and experience living as a GNWT employee.
Francophones can now learn about the benefits of a career with the GNWT, they can see every job opportunity with the GNWT and join a talent community to receive notifications on new job postings, all in their own language. Every French inquiry coming through this website will be answered in French by a bilingual officer.

Why a French version?
Travaillezaugtno is part of a series of measures to increase and improve services and communications in French, as identified in the GNWT’s Strategic Plan on French Language Communication and Services (SPFLCS). The website also supports the GNWT in the recruitment of bilingual employees, which will facilitate the implementation of the GNWT SPFLCS.
Is there anything else different from the English version?
Other than being in French, there is no difference.
Why launch a French version now?
Implementation of the GNWT’s Strategic Plan on French Language Communications and Services is an ongoing process that the government is undertaking with the input of the NWT French-speaking community. All departments continue to expand and enhance services to the French-speaking public as part of the development and implementation of operating plans currently being finalized.
