Community Government Profile

In 1993, Délı̨nę was incorporated as a hamlet but operated under an informal charter community structure. It became a self-governed community in 2015.

The Délı̨nę Self-Government Agreement provides for the creation of an Aboriginal public government and clarifies and provides certainty as to how the Sahtu Dene and Métis of Délı̨nę will implement their inherent right to self-government.
